Can man become God?

The poem that follows was in part, inspired by the Tamil song, Manidhan Enbavan by P. B. Sreenivas, and certain other events...

Can man become God?
Perform an act of kindness without naming a price?
Can such an act redeem
The many wrongs by his people?

Can man trust man?
Offer a place to stay to a person off the street?
Can such an act become a movement
To spread seeds of trust?

Can man reverse the tide?
Fight the flow instead of following it?
Can one such act become a trend
And incite rebellion against the rule of law?

Can man kill man?
Not one, but millions because they were different?
Can such an act be called a solution
And be evaluated as a possibility?

Can man kill God?
Partition one's faith into religions,
Cast one's belief as superior?
Can one such act make him murder?
Kill the very vehicle in which He resides?
